A crown is a “cap” for a damaged tooth. Crowns can be made up of different kinds of materials including porcelain, ceramic, zirconia, metal, composite resin, or a combination of materials.
A bridge is used to fill in gaps between teeth where a patient may have had a tooth removed. A bridge is made up of two or more crowns for the teeth on either side of the gap known at the abutment teeth and a false tooth called a pontic.
